Estella Kuchta is a writer, researcher, and postsecondary instructor, currently teaching at Langara College in Vancouver, Canada. She is the author of the novel, Finding the Daydreamer (Elm Books, 2020) and coauthor with Sean Blenkinsop of Ecologizing Education: Nature-Centered Teaching for Cultural Change (Cornell University Press, 2024). Her current academic research links transrational knowledges, ecological education, and love research. She has worked as a writer and researcher for international management consultants, a research assistant to renowned author Dr. Gabor Mate, and an editor for Susila Dharma International. Her creative writing and journalism projects have been published, aired, and broadcast in newspapers and literary magazines, and on radio and TV in Canada and the United States. Her story, “The Pool Light,” won 2nd place in the 2021 Federation of BC Writers Fiction Contest. She is the winner of the UBC Undergraduate Creative Writing Award and her ecocritical research into Canadian love stories earned a SSHRC award.
